Vale 1-2 Brora  - 17/9/16

Vale pushed the experienced Brora all the way but lost out by the odd goal in three to the Sutherland side, Sean Keith netted the Banffers first home goal since July

Harris Departs/Noble Returns  - 17/9/16
Deveronvale and Fraserburgh have completed a deal involving two strikers. Gary Harris has signed for Fraserburgh having spent just over a year at the Club. Grant Noble is moving back to PRP for a third spell at Deveronvale.

Locos 2-0 Vale  - 14/9/16

Vale lost on their travels to Harlaw Park tonight, Martin Bavidge and Martin Laing were on the scoresheet for the winners with both counters coming in the second period. Ross Aitken was taken to hospital after being on the end of a rash challenge from Greg Mitchell

Vale 0-2 Huntly  - 10/9/16

Another bad day at the office saw Vale lose to neighbours Huntly this afternoon, Robbie Duncanson opened the scoring and Lewis Ingram netted the all-important second before the interval. Craig Cowie was red carded late in the match to complete a miserable afternoon for the Valley Crew

Fans Update  - 9/9/16
Seven games into the league campaign and we've seen some very encouraging performances. Starting with two wins was a real positive, not taking our chances at Forres and losing to a determined Rothes side was very disappointing.

Last Saturday’s win at Lossie, hopefully, got us back on track to maintain a top half of the table position. A real positive is that Dippy and his team have got us competing in games, giving ourselves a real chance of points. After 7 games last season we were on 6 points as opposed to 9 this one but whilst we had scored 8 goals we had conceded 18!

The remainder of September sees a challenging spell of three league games (Huntly at home, Locos away and Brora at home) and a home Scottish Cup First Round tie against Lowland League side Gretna 2008. Huntly and Locos have, like ourselves, had a mixed start of the season and are likely to be tight games. Brora have started with 6 wins from 7 games and we’ll need to be at our best to get something from that match.

I don’t think we’ve played Gretna 2008 (or their predecessors) before and it’s good to have a new team visit Princess Royal Park. They face a 530 mile round trip for the game but are probably glad they didn’t draw Wick Academy (690 miles!). Gretna 2008 currently lie 5th in the Lowland League with 4 wins from their opening 7 games. They play Spartans tomorrow and Dippy will have one of his team there watching the game. Last season they also faced SHFL opposition, going down 3-1 at Formartine United.

On the squad front we have a couple players injured, Kevin Adams and Zander Jack and await medical views on the timeline for seeing them, back fit. Liam Archibald is continuing his loan spell at Burghead Thistle, building up his fitness levels ahead of a return to the squad in early October. Two players have changed career direction, Graeme Watt and Chris Blackhall, and we need to see how best to work with their availability.
